Autumn 2025
In the last few months, there have been many "storms", and now, we must take a moment, to not only reflect, but see how to navigate these unpredictable tides.
What happens in the eye of a storm?
We seek refuge.
We seek shelter.
We seek one another.
And what do we do in the aftermath?
We re-build.
We walk through the debris.
We throw away what cannot be salvaged, release it to the winds of time.
We pause for a moment. We process.
And then we come together, and brick by brick, we rebuild anew.
My dear friend, peacemaker, mediator, activist and writer, Elahe Amani, beautifully said this quote during the last full moon, "Beneath the full moon, the waves keep moving —reminding us that HOPE, too, never rests."
This is so true...so beautifully said. And none other than nature knows this best; it moves on, no matter if the trees have become barren, or the hurricanes have created havoc, or there is a flood, it finds its way to healing. And as nature, we need to let go, allow the changes, the releases, create healing, and then move to the next season, the next chapter of our life.
As we move into the final months of 2025, we take time to reflect on what we need to let go of, what we wish to heal, and what we wish to build, then we do it, one brick at a time. Some things are easier of course, and some require more effort, but the truth is, we will find within us that determination and courage, that will help us face what we need to. We also realize we can lean on each other, we can ask for help, and when we do, we will understand that it is not hard to do, and we will bask in it, the connection, and actually, it will make the weight of whatever has a hold on us feel so much lighter.
I remember the first time I was doing a fundraiser. I really did not know how to ask for the funds. I had never asked for money. But then, I so believed in the cause, and that is what gave me the strength and courage to do so. And today, many years later, I have no issues asking for help, whether it is for a fundraiser or personal. For I have realized, we truly are in this together. And people love to help. And no joy is as big as giving and receiving.
So, no matter how the year has been so far, good or bad, trying or stuck, right now at this moment, ask yourself, how can I serve, and what serves me, or who serves me.
To me, this year of change and transformation is not only about our personal journey but about our collective journey. And as I say in my book, The 11 Pillars of Self Realization, we are all beams of light, eternally connected. So, please take a moment, no matter what storm you may be facing, and know that refuge can be found if you only ask, this connection is vital.
And you will rebuild, brick by brick...for that is what never rests...hope.
With heart and inspiration,
Mitra

The Year of Transformation

Although we are at the beginning buds of 2025, the year already seems packed with much activity and noise.
As a practitioner and forever student of the Cosmic Patterns I heed the messages and whispers of this great Cosmos, as it gives me insight into the patterns and trends of the year, supporting me to navigate it with more clarity.
I have drawn through the decades much of this insight and wisdom from the ancient teachings of mythology and cultures. In ancient traditions of China, a calendar was created, each year corresponding to an animal. this would guide the year in certain trends and patterns. In mythology as well, there was much insight into animals and their essence in nature and life, from in a sense the after life, to this life.
Utilizing the above, and my own intuition and experience of three-four decades, helps me derive at a new window of thought each year of the trends and energies of the year.
2025, is a year of transformation, a year of shedding skin, sitting in Higher Connection, and ruminating in the deep mysteries of the soul and its call. It is a year calling us in mid-Spring toward finding our clarity, and creating big shifts and life decisions till mid-Autumn.
The Snake, the reigning animal of the year, has a very powerful place in mythology, known as the Goddess of Fertility, and in some religions, looked upon as a form of deity. Known for its uncanny powers of observation and wisdom, this is the only animal sign in astrology that can transform and regenerate by shedding its skin. In this we see the power of healing, allowance, and renewal.
Also known to be closest to the Earth, the Snake draws much of its energy from all the elements in nature. A year where nature and its mysteries and wonders will call to us deeply.
As I look to this, I know this is where the year is guiding us to- a release of what no longer serves us, so we can renew, and thus connect to our deeper purpose, and yearnings at this time of life. This is truly so needed individually and collectively.
The material world takes a backstage, as philosophy and spirituality and the Unseen Forces become more vital for our soul. Part of this powerful passage is healing and retreat, to go to the deepest core, on a primal level, and be awakened to this. In a sense this reminds me of Kundalini..rising the coiled snake, the deep consciousness within.
As I look to this year, I am also reminded of the beautiful and teaching from Buddhism- to embrace each moment fully, for in truth the turns of life cannot be seen. As the Snake glides, and we cannot predict its movement, this year is much the same.
The worries of tomorrows may never be, and this will only take away from the gratitude of the now. And as much as each of us wants to know what will happen this year, and we each have a narrative in our head, the truth is, we do not know. Could we have predicted the fires? Could we have seen COVID? No. And this is the magical thing about life, that we cannot. For if we did, we would constantly live in the fear of what may happen.
The 9 Universal Year, this year, is about humanity, the call to peace. Will this call be answered? I pray so. As I always say and wholeheartedly believe, there is so much more good in this world and lightworkers, than the dark forces and those who want to lead us astray. This year, we each will make choices, like each year, however, we now have the last four-five years behind us that taught us so much. We will draw from this wisdom, for we have in a sense each learned, awakened, and are at a different plateau of thought.
I want to also at this time, take this opportunity to thank you for tuning in with me. I have been writing these Newsletters for 15-20 years. I don't know actually exactly when I started! I know you get a lot of information and emails. I thank you for taking the time to read these, and thank you for your kind emails, they make my heart smile.
As the barrage of information and noise is so heightened in recent years, this year, the call to quiet is even more critical, for our soul. To have open spaces, for connectivity, allowance, creativity and healing.
May we walk gently onto the Earth, may we take time to prioritize our spirits and wellness, and may we be always authentic to who we are.
Blessed be your steps..
In peace..in purpose, and in belief.

Rising From the Ashes Together

I never thought, that I would be writing my first Newsletter in the New Year about these wildfires that have plagued us in southern California in the last several days. But, as all things in life, these unexpected turns bring us to a new perspective and window of thought.
The devastation of these fires, the loss and the trauma it brought forth, is tremendous, and cannot be overcome in a day or month. To suddenly lose our home, and feel unsafe in our homes and cities, is a feeling that opens us to a deep space of vulnerability.
In this, we understand homelessness..we understand how in a second all can change. This has given me a flashback of 1978-9, where in my homeland of Iran, thousands had to flee overnight, leaving their homes and all belongings, never to go back. They carried this loss and grief with them for decades, and still do.
However, there is one core difference I realized. We, here, are able to come together in our communities, and find a level of comfort in our togetherness, our shared grief. We have each other, and we still can be in our home cities, and connect to each other, and the land and all the physical spaces lost, and find our healing in time. This, in itself, is a gift beyond measure.
We also recognize on a deep emotional and spiritual level, that in truth, as Pico Iyer talked about so beautifully in his TED Talk, the only home, true home, is the one within us. That is the sanctuary that no fire, revolution, or earthquake can claim. And it is in the love we house there, that we will always find our footing. The love that is between us, and within us, is what we will carry always, and what will carry us, and will be our guiding light.
I am enclosing his TED talk, so please watch it, it is profound and truly inspiring and anchoring.
We will rise from these ashes..
This is what we will do as a global community.
The outpour of love and kindness from each corner of the world has truly been the guiding light in such dark times. A young lad in Iran, who can barely survive himself financially, texted me, asking if he could raise any money for the victims of the fire. This awakened me to the deep truth, that as we hurt, others also hurt, for they energetically feel our pain, no matter where they are in this world. And as we find our healing, the world will heal with us.
From the flames of destruction shall rise a stronger bond in community, in belief and faith. This is the most beautiful gift we are gifting each other with- our hearts, our compassion, our love and kindness for each other.
I leave you with this passage from my book of prayers, Miraculous Silence, from the prayer, We Shall Heal:
With Your grace,
we will heal,
we will find peace,
we will dissolve our anger,
and once again
we will emerge,
stronger,
as a people,
hand in hand,
walking side by side.
Lead us,
God,
With Your grace,
and we shall follow.
Amen
